Bottom Title When your pet needs surgery, you want to know they’re in the best possible hands. At North Waterloo Veterinary Hospital, we strive to deliver high-level surgical services using only the safest anaesthetic practices and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Our veterinarians stay up-to-date with the latest research and technology to ensure your pet the best possible experience and outcome. We have mobile surgeons that come to our hospital, and can perform specialty surgeries at our clinic. This allows us to provide care in a setting where the patients feel comfortable. Surgeries we offer include:
  • Spay and Neuter
  • Tumor Removal
  • Biopsy
  • Eye Surgery
  • Cystotomy (i.e., bladder surgery)
  • Gastrointestinal Surgery
Our surgical laser, which replaces the traditional scalpel blade, simultaneously cuts and cauterizes. This reduces intraoperative bleeding and bruising, and speeds tissue healing while allowing your pet’s surgeon better visualization and control of the surgical field.

Your pet’s anaesthetic protocol will be entirely customized to suit their health status and the nature of their procedure. For continuity of care, each patient is assigned a dedicated registered veterinary technician to provide nursing care and detailed monitoring before, during, and after the procedure until your pet is completely recovered.

Understanding your pet’s procedure and what to expect can help provide valuable peace of mind—that’s why your pet’s veterinary technician and veterinarian will be available at admission and discharge to discuss the surgery, review home-care instructions, and answer any questions you may have. We encourage you to call anytime for an update on your pet’s procedure or status, and we will contact you when your pet is out of surgery and recovering. Schedule your pet’s spay or neuter appointment.

Common heart conditions we see in cats and dogs include: Cryosurgery is the application of extreme cold to destroy targeted lesions without damaging the surrounding tissue. The procedure is quick—we can perform cryosurgery during a regular outpatient appointment—and relatively painless, as the intense cold numbs surrounding nerves and sensory cells. Our cryosurgery unit allows us to remove small benign skin tags, warts, lumps, and bumps without sedating your pet.

Cryosurgery provides a fast, convenient way to eliminate unsightly skin growths from your pet before they cause irritation or discomfort. This surgical method can be paired with a grooming appointment, since skin tags and growths are often noticed as the groomer cares for a pet’s skin and coat.
We offer a complete range of pet dental care services to keep your pet’s teeth and gums healthy throughout their life. This includes:
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Chronic valvular disease
  • Feline cardiomyopathy
  • Dilated cardiomyopathy
